Dr. Sean Justice, Assistant Professor, Art Education, teaches and writes about maker education, material inquiry pedagogy, and teacher education in the digital age. His book, Learning to Teach in the Digital Age: New Materialities and Maker Paradigms in Schools was published in 2016 by Peter Lang, Inc. He holds a doctorate in Art and Art Education from Columbia University, Teachers College, where he taught digital fabrication, physical computing, creative coding, and photography, to pre-and in-service teachers from across the curriculum. | Read more…

Dr. Lori Czop Assaf is a Professor in Reading Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Texas State University. She is the Director of the Central Texas Writing Project and teaches the Study Abroad Program to South Africa. Her research focuses on teacher learning, teacher identity, and supporting K-12 English Language Learners as readers and writers. Dr. Assaf is committed to international collaboration specifically on culturally mediated writing instruction across the disciplines and professional development for pre-service and in-service teachers. |  Read more…

Senior Learning Scientist

Dr. Quinn Burke is Senior Research Scientist at the national education non-profit Digital Promise. His research at Digital Promise examines the effectiveness of different activities by which to introduce students to programming and computational thinking (CT) in schools to support core curricula coursework. His research is supported by state and federal grants and he has written numerous articles about integrating computing into the school day, as well as co-authored two books on K-12 coding and digital gaming through MIT Press. |  Read more…
